Great care was taken to create a safe, green,
convenient living experience in a mix of old and
new for people of all ages. Lush, indigenous,
landscaped gardens surround houses built in typical
Karoo style. The use of cottage pane-sash windows,
corrugated iron roofs, traditional gables, heritage-green
doors and windows as well as quarry-tile floors
all combines to produce an ambience that blends
with the historical context of the town. The compact
units – 20 in total – are arranged
so that they have individual gardens, lock-up
garages and ample visitor parking. The original
street-front building that forms the approach
to the development has been retained and restored.
